Security Cameras

Security and Surveillance Cameras designed for K-12, Higher Education, Municipalities, Houses of Worship, and Retail.

A professionally designed and maintained Security and Surveillance Camera System will provide you with the peace of mind knowing you have visibility of your premises 24/7/365, both in real-time, and if you need to look back at an event from yesterday, last week, or months ago.

Canaan Technology installs Security and Surveillance Camera Systems from Axis, Hikvision, Panasonic and Milestone for K-12, Higher Education, Municipalities, Houses of Worship, and Retail clients in Norwalk, Stamford, Westport, Ridgefield, Greenwich, Fairfield, Shelton, and all of Connecticut.

Camera Styles And Features:

There are many different camera styles, including Dome, Bullet, Fisheye, and Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ). There are three types of Night Vision: Infrared (IR), Low Light, and Thermal. Some cameras have sound. Some have a fixed lens.

Determining the right camera for your needs can be complicated, and there may be regulations such as HIPAA and Workplace Laws prohibiting the use of certain types of cameras.

Extended Video Retention:

Business and Insurance regulations may require you to retain video for 90 or more days, and notification of a pending lawsuit often do not need to be filed for a year or more. This makes extended video retention critical for many organizations.

Based on your requirements, Canaan Technology can design a Video Surveillance System with multiyear retention, and cloud based secondary storage.

Video Analytics:

Video Analytics can be used to create alerts or to automatically take action in response to events such as motion detection, line crossing, facial recognition and person tracking.

An example of Video Analytics in-use would be to automatically generate an alert in the event movement through a door, or towards a building, is detected during an unexpected time period.

Compliance Audits:

Leveraging recorded video, you are able to produce proof that proper procedures are being followed to ensure compliance as required by Insurance Company’s, Banks, and Local, State, and Federal Regulators.

Hilary Felton

Operations

Perhaps a bit of both luck and misfortune, Hilary was with David when it all started back in 2001 when he decided to start Canaan Technology. Hilary agreed “Canaan Technology” had a nice flow, designed the first company logo (long since retired), and helped find our first office space.

Over the years Hilary has quite literally done everything. Accounts receivable, accounts payable, vendor relations, technical support, desktop and network set up, and even pulling cat5 and cat6 (and we’re not talking one or two wires, we’re talking the entire job which was well over 48 cables).

Today Hilary assists our clients and team members with all things Canaan Technology.

David Felton

Founder

David founded Canaan Technology in 2001 with several guiding principles: provide clients with an exceptional experience; offer products with a proven track record; hire smart people with a passion for technology; and organically grow through referrals and partnerships. We adhere to these guiding principles today, just as we did in 2001.

David’s passion for technology began when he was in Elementary School with his first computer, an Apple II E, which he ran a Bulletin Board System (BBS) on. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hartford, David went on to hold management level positions with the University of Hartford, Yale University, the Hamden Public Schools, and a few smaller, but just as demanding, private companies. David also taught technology for both the University of Hartford and the Hamden Public Schools.

Although downtime is rare for David, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, Coaching Little League, Yankee’s Baseball, Go Carting (gasoline powered, helmet required), and traveling.
