David founded Canaan Technology in 2001 with several guiding principles: provide clients with an exceptional experience; offer products with a proven track record; hire smart people with a passion for technology; and organically grow through referrals and partnerships. We adhere to these guiding principles today, just as we did in 2001.
David’s passion for technology began when he was in Elementary School with his first computer, an Apple II E, which he ran a Bulletin Board System (BBS) on. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hartford, David went on to hold management level positions with the University of Hartford, Yale University, the Hamden Public Schools, and a few smaller, but just as demanding, private companies. David also taught technology for both the University of Hartford and the Hamden Public Schools.
Although downtime is rare for David, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, Coaching Little League, Yankee’s Baseball, Go Carting (gasoline powered, helmet required), and traveling.

No, this is not a place holder. We are currently seeking an Office Coordinator who can also provide triage services to our clients.
Client Services Manager
Raphael is a perfect example of persistence pays off. Raphael applied to work for us in 2016 but it was not until 2017 that we finally had a chance to meet him. A native of Brazil with an impeccable work ethic and excellent client skills, it was a natural fit for him to join our team.
Raphael brings to Canaan Technology 9 years of IT Support and Management, and a strong background in mixed environments.
Combining his technical expertise, work ethic, and friendly personality, Raphael is responsible for ensuring clients receive an extraordinary level of service by managing our technical services team.
Perhaps a bit of both luck and misfortune, Hilary was with David when it all started back in 2001 when he decided to start Canaan Technology. Hilary agreed “Canaan Technology” had a nice flow, designed the first company logo (long since retired), and helped find our first office space.
Over the years Hilary has quite literally done everything. Accounts receivable, accounts payable, vendor relations, technical support, desktop and network set up, and even pulling cat5 and cat6 (and we’re not talking one or two wires, we’re talking the entire job which was well over 48 cables).
Today Hilary assists our clients and team members with all things Canaan Technology.
Desktop and Network Support
Steve will often be the first technician you speak with at Canaan Technology, as he provides all first level telephone support. If you stump him with something he’s not seen before, he’ll quickly research the issue or seek the assistance of another member of our support team, and get back to you with a solution.
Steve holds CompTIA A+ Certification, and CompTIA Network+ and Security+ Training Courses.
Desktop and Network Support
Manoj brings to the team at Canaan Technology a wealth of practical knowledge installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Networks, Servers, Phone Systems, and Desktop computers.
Manoj holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Pune – Pune, Maharashtra
Server Administrator / Network Engineer
Andrew is a Senior Technician primarily focused on Server Administration and Network Engineering/Support.
Before joining Canaan Technology, Andrew worked for another like minded Managed Service Provider, and the Geek Squad. This combination of prior experience has prepared Andrew quite well to address our client’s unique needs, and provide a superior level of service having worked on the front line of retail where any imaginable problem finds itself.
