  • David Felton
    Founder

    David founded Canaan Technology in 2001 with several guiding principles: provide clients with an exceptional experience; offer products with a proven track record; hire smart people with a passion for technology; and organically grow through referrals and partnerships. We adhere to these guiding principles today, just as we did in 2001.

    David’s passion for technology began when he was in Elementary School with his first computer, an Apple II E, which he ran a Bulletin Board System (BBS) on. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Hartford, David went on to hold management level positions with the University of Hartford, Yale University, the Hamden Public Schools, and a few smaller, but just as demanding, private companies. David also taught technology for both the University of Hartford and the Hamden Public Schools.

    Although downtime is rare for David,  he enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, Coaching Little League, Yankee’s Baseball, Go Carting (gasoline powered, helmet required),  and traveling.

    Ashley Keeler
    Office Coordinator / Triage

    Ashley is likely to be the first voice you hear when contacting Canaan Technology. Ashley is responsible for Client Services, Scheduling, Purchasing, Office Coordination, and Triage.

    Ashley is also tech saavy, and Apple Certified. So don’t be surprised if you call our office to speak with someone at the Help Desk, and Ashley’s able to provide the support you need.

    Brian Antunes
    Technician

    Brian joined our team as a Technician in 2016 while obtaining a Masters Degree in Information Technology. Brian’s primary role is to provide support services to our clients, and other team members while he learns.

    Raphael Bortolli
    Technician

    Raphael is a perfect example of persistence pays off. Raphael applied to work for us in 2016 but it was not until 2017 that we finally had a chance to meet him. A native of Brazil with an impeccable work ethic and excellent client skills, it was a natural fit for him to join our team.

    Raphael brings to Canaan Technology 9 years of IT Support and Management, and a strong background in mixed environments.

  • Hilary Felton
    Operations

    Perhaps a bit of both luck and misfortune, Hilary was with David when it all started back in 2001 when he decided to start Canaan Technology. Hilary agreed “Canaan Technology” had a nice flow, designed the first company logo (long since retired), and helped find our first office space.

    Over the years Hilary has quite literally done everything. Accounts receivable, accounts payable, vendor relations, technical support, desktop and network set up, and even pulling cat5 and cat6 (and we’re not talking one or two wires, we’re talking the entire job which was well over 48 cables).

    Today Hilary assists our clients and team members with all things Canaan Technology.

    Dave Arango
    Technician

    Dave’s our Windows Server, Virtualization (VMWare and Microsoft Hyper-V), Disaster Mitigation and Recovery, and Network Security Guru. Complimentary to Dave’s technical skills is his commitment to provide our clients an exceptional service experience by communicating his work in clear terms and ensuring he’s available for follow up.

    Dave holds certifications from Datto and Watchguard.

    Stephen McGuire
    Technician

    Through a personal recommendation to David, Stephen applied to join our team in 2009 after returning from 6 months living on a farm in New Zealand because “he’s really good and a hard worker”. Prior to joining Canaan Technology, Steve ran his own small IT consulting business and understood the importance of not only being good at what you do, but also to differentiate yourself from others by providing a better customer experience.

    Stephen is as comfortable pulling and terminating network wire as he is troubleshooting desktops, printers, and iPods. Stephen is incredibly dedicated to our clients, at times surprising David with his willingness to head to his first appointment at 8AM, pick up an emergency service call on his way home at 8PM, and arrive to another client the next morning at 8AM.

    Those of us who work with Stephen know why we refer to him as Stephen McGuyver.
